Experience

Albert Chau is a Chartered Statistician (CStat) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) from a pharmaceutical background, with over 18 years' global experience in statistics, SAS programming, data management, CDISC/standards development and biometrics project management; with a good understanding in drug development and knowledge in a wide range of therapeutic areas, especially oncology.

He has held management positions in organisations of various sizes, from big 
pharma to small biotech and start-up companies. He has a strong interest in setting up new departments from the ground up and putting in place new procedures / working practices. Most recently he was Head of Biometrics at Antisoma Research Limited, a UK-based oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company, where he built up the biometrics department comprising of data managers, SAS programmers and statisticians.

He has experience in regulatory agency meetings and has provided support and advice for new drug applications for regulatory submissions. He also has experience in providing data and statistical support in due diligence activities, both in terms of data review for in-licensing opportunities and preparation of documentations and liaising with potential partners in out-licensing activities.

Albert studied Mathematics with Statistics at University of Nottingham, and has a Masters degree in Statistics with Applications in Medicine from University of Southampton.
